AirStrip Cardiology on iPhone

CRITICAL CARDIAC DATA
IN A HEARTBEAT

Your doctor at TriStar Centennial Heart & Vascular Center is closer than ever with AirStrip CARDIOLOGY™.

Every year, about 1.2 million people in the United States have a heart attack. In these critical situations, time is muscle – the longer it takes to perform primary coronary intervention (PCI), the more damage may occur to the heart.

When every second counts, you want information about your heart to reach the physician who can help you as quickly as possible.

TriStar Health hospitals are the first and only hospitals in Nashville and Middle Tennessee using innovative mobile health technology that sends vital information about a patient’s heart to the doctor before a patient even arrives at the Emergency Room.

In the past, paramedics would obtain a 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) in the ambulance for patients with symptoms compatible with a heart attack, and send that wave-form information via fax or PDF file to the hospital critical care unit for analysis. However, faxes and PDFs can degrade visual clarity, making it more challenging and time-consuming to make a diagnosis.

That’s where AirStrip CARDIOLOGY comes in. This innovative application allows TriStar Centennial Heart & Vascular Center physicians and clinicians to access live ECG data on their iPhone® and iPad®. This immediate access to ECGs regardless of location supports faster, more informed and accurate cardiac care decisions when every minute counts.

AirStrip Cardiology on iPad

ECGs accessed with AirStrip CARDIOLOGY are sharp and detailed digital images. Our critical care unit can analyze and diagnose a patient’s condition before the patient has even arrived via ambulance at the hospital. This enables:

  • Improved, faster communication with emergency medical technicians conducting ECG in the field
  • Shorter average time for heart attack patients to get proper care once in the emergency room; and
  • Faster access to off-site physicians for ECG review.

AirStrip CARDIOLOGY uses data from the GE Healthcare MUSE® Cardiology Information System. It is cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is compliant with federal patient privacy regulations.

With the full AirStrip platform, TriStar Centennial Heart & Vascular Center physicians and clinicians can view live clinical information on their mobile device to keep a closer eye on at-risk patients from initial emergency response all the way through treatment in the hospital.

This revolutionary technology is just one way TriStar Centennial Heart & Vascular Center is committed to delivering quality care in an environment of expertise and experience.

The Future of Heart is here.
