TriStar Centennial Medical Center Heart & Vascular Center’s High Risk Valve Clinic in Nashville, Tenn., offers a multi-disciplinary team approach to caring for and treating high-risk heart patients with heart disease.
The High Risk Valve Clinic consists of a structural heart specialist, two interventional cardiologists, a heart failure specialist, a cardiovascular imaging specialist, and two cardiovascular surgeons. They consult together, pooling vast experience and knowledge to develop personalized patient treatment plans.
Our team offers non-operative candidates with critical aortic stenosis several treatment options, including medical therapy, balloon valvuloplasty, and the new transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
Heart valve problems that benefit from surgery include congenital valve disorders, leaky valves that don't close properly (regurgitation), infected valves, and narrowed valves that don't open correctly (stenosis).
